As the old adage goes, “All good things must come to an end.” Well, from my vantage point, 2014 was a GREAT season. Though this time brings a degree of melancholy…you, our guests, just rewarded our team’s hard work and dedication in an incredible way:
We received news that Brush Creek Ranch ranked #2 in the Top 100 Hotels and Resorts in the World for Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2014. In the same voting, we ranked #1 in the Top 25 Resorts in the US. When announcing the list on “CBS This Morning,” the editor-in-chief revealed we are also #1 among the Top Dude Ranches in the US. She noted the popularity of “dude ranches,” saying what we know very well – these days, people look forward to vacations where they can unplug and simply bond.
These connections are clear as we say our tearful goodbyes. It’s our team members who make the Ranch come alive. They are full of life and passionate to serve guests, and each leaves his or her indelible mark inside these gates.
As sad as we are to see 2014 close up, I am excited about what we have planned for 2015! Next year we will be open on May 22nd for Memorial Day weekend, and our closing date will be October 18th. The calendar is chock-full of special events starting with Opening Weekend in May and continuing with our now famous Independence Week Celebration (June 28-July 5th), complete with a full rodeo under the lights, fireworks, nightly entertainment, and a concert at the BCR outdoor amphitheater featuring CMA Female Songwriter/Singer Clare Dunn. Our third annual “Cowgirl Up” for The Cure benefitting the Susan G. Komen Foundation will take place September 27-30th and finally, our Fall Colors Weekends will wrap up the year in early October.
We are also so excited to have a full season utilizing the newest acquisition of property that falls under The Brush Creek Ranch collection – The A Cross/Sanger Ranch. This 15,000 acre ranch, one of the top working and sporting ranches in the U.S, is known as the “crown jewel” of the Platte River Valley. The Sanger, along with the TZ Ranch and Bird Cloud Ranch are excellent locations for fly fishing and big game hunting adventures. The state is accepting applications for fall 2015 hunts now. Call Matt Anderson here at the ranch (307-327-5284) for specifics and to understand more fully how to navigate through the application, draw and hunt details. We now have 30,000 total acres to share for your enjoyment!
The team – Bruce, Beth and I – thank you for being a part of our business. It is true, “the guests make the party,” and we are so appreciative of the relationships made and rekindled here. Don’t forget to take advantage of our “Alumni” 2015 Incentive for return guests, available only until January 16 – a 15% discount on 2015 stays.
Until then, have a terrific thanksgiving, holiday season and winter! We’ll see you again, hopefully, when the Wyoming wild flowers begin blooming in the spring.
